We have tried many things in the past to connect the community. Discord is an easy and effective way for people to ask questions. It's an approachable way to ask your questions to the community and works like most apps we use daily.
The main reason for having a Discord channel is that we want to promote sharing knowledge on an open platform where everyone is welcome, and at the same time connect passionate people together through our community.
Boosting the server is a way of showing your gratitude. We don't require anyone to boost the server, however if you decide to do so you are helping towards maintaining the community and upgrading the server with better sound quality for the live events. There are many features granted each level and we try to keep the server at level 2 at all stages so that we have at least 1080p/256kbps audio quality during live streams.
