About the artists

Honeysmack

Honeysmack is an electronic musician hailing from Melbourne, Australia. He has been actively producing music and performing live Techno for almost 3 decades, earning a reputation as one of Australia's leading electronic music pioneers.

Honeysmack grew from the underground rave scene of the early 90s, combining Acid and Techno to create a unique sound that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Labelled a maverick artist who brings a punk-rock aesthetic and philosophy to electronic music. He has released numerous albums and EPs, toured extensively and completed a PhD in Acid Techno! Honeysmack's performances are widely acclaimed for their high energy, dynamic and spontaneous character, all fuelled by his electronic music hardware.

Dr. David Haberfeld, his real name, firmly believes the essence of electronic dance music resides in a live improvised approach, very different to DJing. Equal parts performer, producer, prankster, punk and disrupter; Honeysmack’s reputation for challenging audiences by pushing the creative boundaries of Techno and how it is presented is consistent throughout his work. Honeysmack surrounds himself with an arsenal of drum machines and synths for every performance. This is LIVE improvised Acid Techno, performed live on the dancefloor. Honeysmack is not a DJ, there are no laptops, no records, no CDJs and no USBs, just pure live electricity!

AROKX

AROKX is a pure product of the NZ scene. Proving that if electronic music is meant for you it will find you. While his childhood friends were listening to gangsta rap/hip hop the sounds of deep melodic Techno were calling from the subterranean of Auckland.

A spiritual calling to Shipwrecked festival resulted in a residency on the BOAT stage in 2015 which rescued and completely changed his life with providing a future in music.

Catching the eyes and ears of international promoters with his raw talent and original production, Arokx was launched into the club and festival circuit overseas playing alongside many of the world's top headline acts after laying down a legendary closing set for HNQO (HOT CREATIONS) which set it off with a bang.

Performing at hotspots such as Circus Sundays, Killing Time, Revolver, Rainbow Serpent Festival, Pelican Villa, Rubix Warehouse, 3Fold Radio KISSFM, Babylon festival, Organic Audio and the very first few Breakfast Club events to name a few. Arokx considers himself truly fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience Melbourne in its golden era and peak of the "bush doof" Incredibly special times.

This is one act that will keep you engaged until the very end, giving the audience a whole new world of sound & vibration to be immersed in. This is a real artist that lives the grind of producing music so respect, listen and enjoy.
