We were lucky enough to be part of the biggest modular synthesizer event in the world in 2022, named SuperBooth. The event is held every year in Berlin, Germany and we travelled from New Zealand to our German friends to meet suppliers, manufacturers and synthesizer enthusiasts from around the world.

The idea of Superbooth has already have a history of 20 years. It all started as a part of the Musikmesse in Frankfurt, when a handful of friends and likeminded nerds created a very own and special spot for synth enthusiasts. This common space presented a collection of small and passionate manufacturers of exotic hardware and electronic music instruments. The (original) SuperBooth.

The purpose of this shared space was to provide small and starting brands the chance to afford the costs of a presence on a big event like Musikmesse. But even more, to present a collective spirit and simply making music together. No focus on the pure brand presentation, but demonstrating what you can actually do with these spaced out instruments when connecting and combining them with each other.

We have made new friends, seen some amazing modular synthesizer performances and enjoyed the workshops! To celebrate our visit we composed a short and snappy one minute recap of our SuperBooth visit in 2022.

The music in this video was recorded at the Polyend stand straight out of the new Polyend Play. We can see some great shots of the new Erica Synths Perkons at work and SYNTRX II putting out some voltage by routing it with the built-in matrix mixer to the gauge.

We were lucky enough to visit SuperBooth in Berlin for 3 days and want to thank all manufacturers who have been so hospitable to entertain us during the week. Close to the end of the video there is a part of the live performance of Bonding, by Julia Bondar at SuperBooth on day 2. Three days of modular synthesizers, a lot of bleeps and bloops and some great company. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we do.
